AUGONTAR DRESSAGE
Dressage in Metro Detroit
ON LOCATION

While located in Ortonville,  Marie  is willing to travel and promotes a quiet, very professional, fun and friendly atmosphere.  Marie boards  horses at and works out of a beautiful facility  in Ortonville, where you are welcome to board and take lessons, or to bring your horse for training.  This facility offers daily grass turnout in four-board fencing,  12x12 stalls,  and 3 or more feedings a day; there is an oversized, heated indoor arena, an oversized outdoor arena, and a large comfortable observation room as  well as other amenities.

Augontar Dressage places high value on forming a strong equine team.  Each member of your equine team has a direct impact on your success.  This team can include any of the following: horse, trainer, coach, veterinarian, farrier, groom, farm manager and crew, equine massage therapist, dentist, and chiropractor and should be chosen with utmost care.  A small hiccup with any member of the team can produce frustrating, even daunting, set backs.

Marie’s vast experience training, coaching, raising young horses, competing, managing a farm, breeding and providing veterinary care all come together to provide a solid foundation on which to build your equine team.

All levels of horse and rider are welcome and are schooled in a methodical format based on the horses' individual needs and the goals of the riders and owners.  Whether the horse is early in his career (just being backed) or at an advanced level, his training is tailored to his individual needs while following the basic elements of the training scale.

Marie is pictured below starting a young horse.  Emphasis is placed on reward and praise when starting young horses  in order to promote confidence and, ultimately, a willing and happy partner.

In the following pictures Marie  is shown schooling Adear at home:

Pictured below, Marie works with a student in preparation for showing this young horse in-hand.

Showing young dressage horses in-hand is a great way to expose them to the high paced  environment  of horse shows with out putting too much pressure on them.

It also provides early feedback from qualified judges as to the quality of the individual for his intended purpose.
